Emotions are a genuine time machine. The emotions inspired by the "Medieval Torture Collection" will transport you back in time hundreds of years to some of the most miserable moments in human history.
Our exhibit is a unique presentation that combines academic research with the contradictive, emotionally repulsive draw of time in history when torture and torment were commonplace.
The collection targets our most primal emotional response - fear. The film industry spends millions of dollars on horror films, tapping into that most basic response and our desire to know it more intimately, without actually having to be afraid.
The "Medieval Torture Collection" reminds us just how much suffering humanity can inflict in the name of cause and justice when the right tools are placed in the hands of fanatics, madmen and tyrants.
Based on historical documents and engravings, we have amassed an unprecedented collection of cruelty, re-creating the atmosphere that prevailed throughout most of the Middle Ages. For several years, a team of scientists, historians, decorators and sculptors have worked on creating a unique, holistic concept consisting of several hundred pieces; exhibits united in individually-themed scenes. To enhance the effect, ambient sound and human mannequins are used, made with the utmost realism, making them hard to distinguish from real people.
"All Inclusive Package:
Visit the Medieval Torture Museum (with Audio guide included) and get the Ghost Hunting Experience and Tiny Art Gallery Admission with this all inclusive package. You can enjoy all three activities at one visit. The Medieval Torture Collection reminds visitors of the horrific injustices inflicted by madmen and tyrants upon the most unfortunate living in the Middle Ages. Throughout 5,000 square-feet, terrifying yet historically accurate exhibits and life-like reenactments showcase over a hundred repulsive torture devices, practices, and weapons used in Medieval societies.
The museum's six rooms each boasts its own creepy theme. For example, one room houses the pendulum, a horrifying device that involved a swinging blade that slowly dipped towards the prisoner's body, eventually tearing through their clothes and skin. Another room features the grisly practice of strapping a bucket of rats onto a captive's torso, the application of heat forcing the vermin to claw through the stomach and chest.
Don't forget to feel the chilling Ghost Hunting Experience using Ghost Hunting app. After guests tour the museum, a tiny art exhibit provides some relief, featuring almost 30 ultra-tiny paintings and miniature sculptures visible only through microscopes.
Spend an hour here and you will better know the nature of fear. Are you brave enough?
